To Our Valued Customers:
On November 18, 2004, Michael Ioanou and Angelo Manuel became the
owners of Sting-Ray’s Restaurant, also known as the “Cape Center”. This was a
most exciting day for us. Michael and I have been friends for more than 35 years
now. We have both worked in different fields for so many years and would
occasionally cross paths in the real estate business. We spoke many times of
working together in a business we both grew up in. We now have a business
together, that we may work with our families and enjoy the history and fond
memories this place has in the hearts of all who have shared a meal here. This
has been a meeting place for businessmen, vacationers, fishermen, the locals and
just people who like the food and atmosphere of Sting-Ray’s Restaurant.
We will continuing the tradition Ray Haynie started many years
ago offering quality food, convenience store items, specialty gifts and most of
all, a meeting place for family and friends to share the days events. I first
remember this building as a child, stopping in to get something to eat after
getting off the ferry boat from Norfolk in the early 60’s. We would then
purchase some snacks for the long trip to Hartford, Connecticut. We never know
what lies ahead for us in this life. Who would believe that the future of a
building contractor and a financial planner would involve a barn like building
on a busy highway in a quaint little town on the Eastern Shore.
On behalf of Mary, Sandra, Russell, Michael, Angelo, Connie,
Helen, Tim, Mark and all the people who work at Sting-Ray’s who make it work, we
wish you a most wonderful year and look forward to sharing the uniqueness and
quality or establishment has to offer. We wish you safe travel to your
destination and a most happy year ahead.
